Wonderful sunshine and volunteers turned out on the Park today.

Apple trees planted by Civic Pride and a beautiful Buddlea for our butterfly friends. Park Rd Beds are starting to look so much better, amazing how adding colour, mix with a bit of sunshine and everyone seems to smile more and take time to say Hello.

We definately know people are noticing and appreciating the difference when passed an envelope with a simple Thankyou on from a passerby with a gift…

What an INCREDIBLE day!

After a long, long time, we are almost there!

The long awaited 'official' opening of our Gardens is upon us, and, the weather looks as though it's going to be fine!

The event will start at around 10am tomorrow, we have the following stalls from local businesses attending:

A HUGE thank you for Limelight Signs of Bacup - http://www.limelightsigns.co.uk/ - who have supplied us with some brilliant signs for our projects, including a sign to mark the opening of the Whitaker Park gardens by Christine Walkden.

They also supplied the banner which was used at the Rawtenstall Fair yesterday!

We think you're INCREDIBLE!

Despite the weather yesterday, we had a very positive appearance at The Rawtenstall Fair.  Lots of interest in IERoss and lots of people saying they would be attending the opening.

Hi again, time for an update I thought especially as we have been busy as everything is growing like mad at the moment and I’ve been sowing more seeds.  As usual I’ve added more photos to my album and I found a few more from 2009/10 and I noticed a few extreme winter casualties that are no longer with us, a flame tree, eucalyptus and dwarf parlour palm.  Our back wall is now where the bench, table and chairs are but we…

With just two and a half weeks left until the official opening of our Whitaker Park garden, we still need some edible fruit/vegetable/herb plants to fill in a few gaps.

If every member gave just one item, we could have almost another 120 plants!!  It's that easy!

We would love an established rhubarb plant - we bought some new ones, but unfortunately, they shrivelled away in the recent hot…
