This years delivery of jams and jelly trees arrive next week. Civic Pride volunteers will be planting their 450 on the bypass layby on Sunday 13th. Haslingden Community Link are looking at Saturday 19th, with we hope some Veteran In Action (VIA) volunteers assisting planting at locations throughout Haslingden. Edgeside Park trees will be planted on completion of the groundwork for the new childrens play area to provide additional hedgerow.

What a fantastic day.
All things trees and apples were celebrated at Whittaker park yesterday for Curiosities weekend on Apple day. A community harvest service is planned for Sunday October 2nd at St Annes church, Ashworth Rd, Edgeside. With school already doing food growing with key stage 2 the church harvest theme this year links totally to IER aims. Donations of locally vegetables and fruit welcomed and all will then go in to dishes to be served the following weekend following the interfaith Irwell Vale walk. Wonderful sunshine and volunteers turned out on the Park today.
Apple trees planted by Civic Pride and a beautiful Buddlea for our butterfly friends. Park Rd Beds are starting to look so much better, amazing how adding colour, mix with a bit of sunshine and everyone seems to smile more and take time to say Hello.
We definately know people are noticing and appreciating the difference when passed an envelope with a simple Thankyou on from a passerby with a gift…

Fantastic turnout of 14 volunteers, despite the rain yesterday to plant the bedding plants donated by Civic Pride in Edgeside Park. ESDRA's park project is really coming along with the wildflower beds looking beautiful, fingers crossed for improved play area soon and more volunteers interested in getting some edible plants started to supplement the fruit trees.
