we didn't remove the weeds from the site just left them there undreneath the layer of cardboard and woodchip so as to protect the soil if anyone would like to plant extra things at this site in bacup just take a sharp dibber or a trowel and cut through the cardboard and plant into the damp fertile soil below the protective layer of the cardboard and mulch. That way the plants you would like to grow grow well and the ones you want to cut out feed the plants you want to eat!
