Haslingden market traders issue 'use it or lose it' plea

HASLINGDEN market traders are urging shoppers to use the market or risk losing it.

After seeing a drop in trade recently, stallholders at the market in Blackburn Road are worried that they might not be able to stay open.

Rossendale Council tried to encourage new trade into the market earlier in the year by offering half-price rent for new traders, but so far only two new permanent cabins have been taken, meaning a quarter still stand empty.
