Our 2020 vision for a healthIER wealthIER Rossendale
What a great day at the Valley Centre yesterday, and, so much achieved!
Caroline did a great job on publicity in Rawtenstall town centre - we had loads of people coming into the Valley Centre to see what we were up to. We also had around 20 helpers throughout the day and managed to get far more done than we anticipated.
We were even visited by BBC North West and appeared on their evening news programme!
Here are a few photos I took yesterday:
Hannah, Joanna and Pia positioning herbs in one part of the herb circle
Two of the planted beds (the stones aren't permanent, they are there to keep the membrane in place until the bark is put down)
Jake helps remove stones from the soil whilst being interviewed by Stuart Flinders from BBC North West.....
......and Heather smiles for the camera!
Volunteers from the local Mosque came along to help plant. :-)
Mark flattening the soil for the walled garden which will be planted with strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries and rhubarb after the walls have been painted
